Katayoun Azarmi (pronounced [cat-I-youn aah-zar-me]; born January 17, 1962) is an Iranian born, American designer, actress and business woman. She created the jewelry line, Kaviar Jewelry in 2002, now the eponymous, Kathy Rose for Roseark. Rose founded the retail boutique, Kaviar and Kind (in 2003), now called Roseark. In 2004, Rose was a finalist for the FGI Rising Star Award in Jewelry. In 2007, she was selected to exhibit her Grasshopper Cuff at the California Design Biennial at the Pasadena Museum of California Art.

Personal life

In 2005, she married Rick Rose. The couple have a daughter, Saffron (born 2006) and son, Quinn (born 2008).

Career

JEWELRY DESIGN

The first mainstream success came in 2001, with the Icicle Stick Earrings (which were worn by Cameron Diaz in the feature film, Vanilla Sky). Rose is also known for other unique designs, among them her trademark Snake Cuff, Chandelier Earrings, Eagle Cuff and Arrowhead series. In 2008, Rose changed the name of her line to Kathy Rose for Roseark.

RETAIL

In 2003, Rose co-founded the Los Angeles boutique, Kaviar and Kind on Sunset Boulevard. The boutique became known as the goto fashion jewelry store on the West Coast. In February, 2008, Rose and husband, Rick Rose, changed the name of Kaviar and Kind to Roseark. In June 2008, Roseark opened on the corner of Crescent Heights Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood. In June 2010, a second store opened on Montana Ave in Santa Monica, CA.

MOVIES

Rose is an accomplished actress, appearing in Pranksters (2005), Hollywood (2006), and Out At The Wedding (2007), as well as acting as producer on both the aforementioned films, Hollywood and Pranksters.

Awards/Recognition

Rose was a Fashion Group International Rising Star Finalist in Jewelry (2004). In 2007, she was selected to exhibit her Grasshopper Cuff at the California Design Biennial at the Pasadena Museum of California Art. In 2010, Kathy was announced as the winner of the First Season of Bravo's Launch My Line.

Popular culture

Kathy Rose's designs have been seen on the runway, in print, in movies and television on models and celebrities like: Lindsay Lohan, Courteney Cox-Arquette, Penelope Cruz, Charlize Theron, Demi Moore, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston, Madonna, Kate Hudson, and Nicole Richie.

Kathy won the Bravo Television series Launch My Line with fashion expert Emil Gampe.[1]
